We are currently not accepting GP referrals for psychiatric consultations.
There is limited availability for psychotherapy, with enquiries welcome.
Referrals for Psychiatric Consultations
For new private clients, we require a referral from your GP. This allows us to have a broad understanding of your medical background to inform assessment and treatment.
Unfortunately, we are not currently accepting GP referrals for privately-funded psychiatric consultations.
Our psychiatrists are registered with ACC to provide psychiatric assessment, psychiatric treatment and psychotherapy. Requests for ACC psychiatric assessment and psychiatric treatment require pre-approval from ACC.
We are also able to help with organisational psychiatric assessments, for example work-capacity assessment. Please enquire about our current availability for organisational psychiatric assessments.
Referrals for Psychotherapy
Our practice welcomes self-referrals for psychotherapy, and our psychiatrists offer online psychotherapy sessions to clients located anywhere in New Zealand and Australia.
We do not require a GP referral for privately-funded psychotherapy, however you are welcome to ask your GP to make an initial referral on your behalf, if you wish to do so.
Clients located in New Zealand who have an ACC sensitive claim are able to self-refer for psychotherapy. Please let the practice administration team know that your referral is for ACC-funded therapy.
Clients located in Australia should be aware that a Medicare rebate is not available for psychotherapy sessions with our psychiatrists.
Please let our practice administration team know that your self-referral is for psychotherapy – rather than for a psychiatric consultation - in order for them to direct your enquiry appropriately.
You will then be contacted to discuss your self-referral, answer any initial questions you might have, and book your first session.
